A number of beginner poker players think that poker is most of the time a lucky game. But after getting some experience in this kind of game, you can see that Poker is as well the way to destabilise your opponent.

Luck takes part of course, it helps a lot and allows your game to be stronger and destabilise your opponent by the quality of what you have. But sometimes it is more important to analyse how your opponent play instead of playing just when the river is on your side.

For example, I am a woman and I used to play in a pub with a number of men and women. It is always the same thing, when women play poker they need to be sure about their cards, they don’t bluff so much because losing their money it is something quite difficult to accept for them. On the other side, you have Men. For them, luck has to be there and if something can happen with the last card on the river, they will try it. They don’t have the same notion of the risk. Men are more bold compare to Women. Why? I think it is a question of nature. Women care about thing and manage them for the next round; Men don’t care so much if they don’t win. If they don’t win, it is not their day.

Reading the gestural of your competitors, it is something you get after a while. Every game at any place it is a good way to improve your game and the reading of your opponents. Poker is also a technical game. Observation and patience are probably the most important quality you need to have to be a professional player.

You need to be lucky but it doesn’t do the entire job. Beginners are easy to play and guys who want to show off as well, with some patience it is easy to get them in your net. But after a certain level, you have to be lucky a little bit of course but especially able to manage yourself and analyse the way that your opponent are playing.

Most of professional players are patient and observe their opponent before playing hard. But after that, using fear again your opponent it is something that you have to use to subvert them.

My strategy most of the time it is when I raised I don’t look at my cards again and I raise until the other ones fold. It works most of the time because I am a woman and they know I don’t play without a good hand.

So yes, poker it is a little of chance but it is as well the opportunity to develop some news skills and get some adrenaline.
